Course Objective
This workshop aims to equip participants with the skills to draw, modify, and convert chemical structures suitable for Computer Aided Drug Design (CADD) applications.
Course Module
Module - 1
- Introduction and importance of chemical structure drawing in Drug Discovery
- Software Installation
- Interface Walkthrough: menus, toolbars, and drawing canvas
- Drawing molecules, atoms, bonds, rings, stereochemistry, cis/trans, chiral centers and functional groups
- Editing Structures: add/remove atoms, charges, stereochemistry
- Generating IUPAC names and molecular formula
- 2D → 3D structure conversion
- Exporting docking compatible formats (PNG, MOL, SDF, PDB, SMILES)
